The history as narrated by the Rev Dr. Edward John Enim, Founder, and Chief Executive officer of CFCM. In 1991 I was involved in an evangelistic mission which led to the establishment of some new churches. Working with these new believers quickly made me aware of their many practical spiritual, social, economic and health needs. In response to their health needs, this hospital was established in 1999/2000 emerged.
Circumstances that occurred to me, and which opened my eyes to see the other side of my calling from God was an encounter with a desperate woman who was losing her sick baby for lack of 2,500 old cedis equivalent to twenty-five $0.25 US cent. She came panting and knocking at my gate. She was desperate and weeping. She could hardly speak because of the trauma she was going through. Her little 2-year old daughter was sick of malaria and anemia. She had taken her to the government hospital not having money on her to pay for the charges. She had no hope of getting that money anywhere but to seek help from me, the man of God. That led her to my house, knocking at the gate. My missionary team was with me so we collected offering from each one of them and came up with 120,000 old cedis (GHC12.00p). No sooner had this poor and desperate woman reached there than to meet the baby dead.
I was sad upon hearing the death of the baby so I said to myself I cannot minister among these people while I burry their children. This child could have lived to become a prominent person in society. Lord, what will you have me do? With the help of Rev Dan Hodges, I stepped out by faith and traveled abroad preaching in churches and raising support for my vision for the coast seeing a health post among my people catering for their health needs. The Lord is good.
